Michigan Sikhs in the News

Past Event

From October 19-21, 2001
MI Sikhs, the Sikh student association at the University of Michigan, is hosting a conference to address these issues. Although the conference does not fall at an ideal time, especially in light of recent tragic events, this conference has been in planning stages since January of last year.

MI Sikhs feels that it is especially important for Sikhs to come together at this very difficult time. "One Nishaan: Working toward the Unification of Sangat" will be held on the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus and the Sheraton Inn, Ann Arbor. The conference will be open to youth in their first year of college (under and post-graduate )to age 30 and will focus on discussion of various divisions within the sangat as well as action to educate ourselves and others on Sikhism. The schedule allows for spiritual exercises, discussion, unifying action and networking. We will offer shabad vichaar, workshops, action-oriented projects, a formal banquet with a keynote speaker and a diwan.

Your registration fee of $150 covers 3 days,2 nights stay at the Sheraton, transportation, all meals and snacks (except for Saturday lunch), entertainment and all conference materials.
